I’ve looked and there doesn’t appear to be a single affordable imported ute listed for sale in the US. There’s a few very pricey Chevy SS or Pontiac GTO (Holden Commodore) conversions but not really anything else.

Not sure why but maybe the market isn’t there. I just wondered what the cheapest one I could find in the states was and it was a US market Chevy SS with LHD turned into a Commodore ute for way too much money.
I'm sure there are one or two out there but I couldn't find them.

Its probably because the US market Pontiachevr oletodore’s and the Australian Dunnydore utes share nothing in common engineering wise past the B pillar so pretending otherwise would get really expensive...

But 1995 and older Australian market utes seem like they would be a great bang for your buck as an import yet no one seems to have done that, like, ever, it seems.
I want an Australian ute but there are none for sale.

There's plenty down here but can you afford the freight?

Importation is very expensive but I bet I could get a decent one for 15 k USD including hiring someone to do the paperwork. But I don’t have 15k. Can it be done with 8k? Maybe.
